This is a general-purpose policy written for a small AI automation business operating in South Africa. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified attorney. If you're relying on this for a real client contract, have it reviewed before you rely on it.

1. Who We Are

BarnesDev ("we", "us", "our") builds and operates AI-powered receptionist, WhatsApp assistant, and website services for home service businesses based in Cape Town, South Africa. This policy applies to visitors of our website and to businesses who become clients.

2. What We Collect

When you use the live demo on this site, book a call, or message us on WhatsApp, we may collect:

Your name, phone number, and/or email address
Messages you send through the demo widget or WhatsApp
Basic business details you share when discussing a project (business type, service area, pricing needs)

We do not collect payment information through this website. Any billing is arranged directly with clients.

3. How We Use It

To respond to enquiries and demo requests
To build and configure your AI system if you become a client
To improve how our demo and services respond to real enquiries

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Client Data (Your Customers' Data)

If you're a client using our AI receptionist or WhatsApp assistant, conversations between your customers and the AI are processed to provide the service (answering, qualifying, booking) and are not shared with other businesses or used to train models for anyone outside your account. We handle this data with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) in mind. If you require a signed data processing agreement for your own compliance purposes, contact us directly.

5. Third-Party Services

Our systems are built using third-party infrastructure, including WhatsApp Business API, workflow automation tools, and AI language models. These providers process data as part of delivering the service and have their own privacy terms.

6. Service Terms

Setup fees are due before work begins unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Monthly fees cover hosting, maintenance, and support, and are billed in advance.
Call minutes or usage beyond an agreed plan are billed at the rate disclosed at signup.
Either party may cancel an ongoing monthly service with 30 days' written notice.
We aim for reliable uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, as we depend on third-party platforms (WhatsApp, hosting, AI providers) outside our direct control.

7. Your Rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, request corrections, or request deletion, subject to what we're legally required to retain (e.g. for accounting records). Contact us using the details below.
